BE THANKFUL

BIBLE STUDY LESSON

TITLE: BE THANKFUL
READING: 1 CORINTHIANS 15:57-58 | 1 THESSALONIANS 5:18-23 | PSALMS 100: 1-5

In this reading we will discover the levels of being Thankful.

Being Thankful is a sign of being grateful.
Being grateful is how we receive God’s Grace.

In this lesson we will focus on three phrases:
Thankful, Grateful & Grace.

You see,
being Thankful is giving God thanks
for the things that He has
blessed us with.

But being Grateful
is an act of understanding,
that if we didn’t have God’s blessings
our lives would be in bad shape.

Now ask yourself…

* What are you Thankful for?
* What made you Grateful?
* How can we show Grace to other?

1 Corinthians 15:57
Teaches us how to be thankful.

1 Corinthians 15:58
Shows us how to be thankful.

That’s the power of God, he not only teaches the way to go, but often in times he also will show us the way to go… we must follow and believe in his direction. But the most important thing is being thankful that God is leading us.

1 Thessalonians 5:18-23
Shows us how to build a Grateful heart. We must upgrade to Grateful, so we don’t become selfish and entitled to God’s blessings. What’s the difference?

You see, the problem with have a Thankful heart leaves rooms for that Thank You to turn into a Thanks. “Thanks” shortens the Thank You and will over time start to shorten up the thanksgiving in your heart. Because overtime you will start to feel entitled to God’s blessings and you will start to look at blessing as gifts.

But when we upgrade to Grateful heart, we lock in being gracious and always having a sincere Thank You in all our thanksgiving. This is key for the next step.

Now just a little background…
The 100th Psalm is known as a
Psalm of Thanksgiving.

Psalm 100:1-5
Teaches us how-to walk-in Grace.

You see, when we start to walk in Grace, it will start to take our Thankful Heart and turn it into a Grateful Heart. Once we have a Grateful heart and we are walking in God’s Grace now we have made God thankful.

So, going into this new week
let us get away from the “Thanks” and
lead with a “Thank You” in our gratitude.
And remember being Thankful is good
but being Grateful is great!
May God bless you with Grace.
Amen. #GloryToGod
