BIBLE STUDY LESSON
TITLE: SAND VS. MARBLE
READING: GENESIS 2:7 | JOB 13:28 | MATTHEW 6:19 | PROVERBS 11:28 | 1 CHRONICLES 29:2
BONUS: 2 PETER 2:6
In this reading will study being made of Sand vs. Marble.
No matter rather something is made of sand or marble,
there is one thing that is common:
Everything Crumbles!
GENESIS 2:7
Tells us that God created man from dust.
Later in Verses (21-22)
God created woman from man and dust.
Because we were made from the dust
it’s two things this shows us:
1. Don’t build up anything,
if we can’t breathe life into it.
(This concerns an idea or concept)
2. There are somethings we can’t build up
because we can’t breathe life into it.
(This concerns relationships and situations)
JOB 13:28
Tell us that man decays.
Everything Crumbles!
The body is made up of matter,
but only the soul matters.
MATTHEW 6:19
Tells us NOT to hoarder up treasures.
Everything Crumbles!
God made man from dust,
but that wasn’t good enough.
When the Romans took power,
they mad buildings out of marble
hoping it would preserve them longer.
They made marble statues
as idols to themselves
hoping their legacy don’t crumble.
But there’s a rumble…
PROVERBS 11:28
When we trust in God
we can crumble and
God still will regenerate us.
Marble is formed from limestone
by heat and pressure
from the earth’s crust.
Do you feel the heat?
Do you feel the pressure?
This is called recrystallization.
1 CHRONICLES 29:2
Tells us that King David
had an abundance of precision materials.
Explaining why all the pyramids
were incased in limestone.
This was during the building of
the Temple of Solomon.
Unlike the pyramids,
the temple wasn’t a personal project
explained in Verse #1.
But,
Where are the great pyramids?
(It was hundreds of them built.)
Where is the great temple?
(Which had the strongest and most precious materials.)
2 PETER 2:6
Tells us Everything Crumbles!
Ashes-To-Ashes
Dust-To-Dust.
But without God,
it will crumble faster,
and fall harder.
If we have God,
He can take a sand mold,
and turn it into a marble figure.
He can create a limestone cast
around and in our lives.
When evil is thrown in the fire,
it will break down and crumble.
But when good is thrown in the fire
it is refined.
Thank God for the divine,
Recrystallizing our lives.
You don’t have to be marble,
because even God’s sand shines.
Amen. #GloryToGod
