BIBLE STUDY LESSON
TITLE: REPENT
READING: 1 PETER 2:9 | MATTHEW 3:2 | LUKE 13:3 | ACTS 17:30 | MARK 1:4
BONUS: LUKE 15:7
In this reading will study the mercy we receive when we Repent.
Last week, we studied God’s Light
that will bring us out of darkness.
But some of us,
are so deep into the darkness,
we can’t find our way out.
We need an Emergency Exit.
In order for us to come out of darkness,
we must repent in our darkness.
1 PETER 2:9
Tells us to come out of darkness.
When we Repent in our darkness,
it shows grace when
we ask for forgiveness,
and God will show His mercy,
which is His light in our darkness.
MATTHEW 3:2
Shows us that everyone must Repent.
No matter rather we are
in the wilderness or a palace.
Matthew brings up John in his accounts
because John started in the wilderness.
It’s time to come out of the darkness.
LUKE 13:3
Tells us our disobedience is hindering us.
The blessing never comes
before the lesson.
Everyone must go through sin,
but when we Repent,
God can use our sin.
(As a testimony or example)
Do we choose to flourish or perish?
WE NEED ACTION!
ACTS 17:30
Shows us that we are going from
a time of ignorance,
to a time of accountability.
It’s like a Signature Capture;
At the end of this transaction,
you will be asked
to sign for the order,
taking responsibility for
what has been entrusted to us.
* Will God accept or deny our signature?
* Will God recognize our signature?
If things aren’t packaged right,
God will not receive it.
* Return to sender *
To Repent is the act of
taking responsibility.
But Repentance is the action
of taking accountability.
We must adjust the adjective.
MARK 1:4
Tells us that Baptism is the
approved action for Repentance.
The reason why Mark mentioned
John in his accounts,
because it shows that
it doesn’t matter
rather it’s a 3foot pool
or a 6foot pool,
it is sufficient for
the remission of sins.
So, it doesn’t matter
rather we are
3feet tall or 6 feet tall,
when we walk in Repentance,
God can us all.
+ BONUS:
LUKE 15:7
Is God’s promise and reward
of Repentance.
Act vs. Action
Temporary gratification
doesn’t equal glorification.
God’s formula is:
The Preparation, The Action
and The Application.
God has always been preparing us.
So, when we act, He apply
His Grace, Mercy and Peace.
So, before we go into a new week,
let us Repent of our sins.
As we go through the week,
let us move into a state of Repentance.
Sanctifying our Mind, Body + Soul,
so we can receive Forgiveness
from the Lord. Amen.
